"humility"
I lost touch of the truth and found self on top of pride.
Buried my ignorance in pills of ego and rocks of self exaltations.
Silently you watched me in my mask of life,
claiming to be what I am not.
Putting everything before me down to feed my ego.
I have cared for those I like and
hated those who didn’t fit into my weird world.
I was at war with you.
I couldn’t see the beauty in you. Now I know,
there is beauty in ugliness.
I ignored the truce of beauty to accept the commercial beauty of the mass media.
I have put down your master pieces, called them names regardless of how they feel.
But silently you watched me like a pet cat watches her owner in crazy and lousy dance without a word.
I felt I had it all.
I felt I had it together until you crushed me, until you brought me to my knees.
I have seen the light on the other side of the coin.
In all humility I thank you for the pains I bore which has open wide my perspective on life.
Cruising down on memory lane I have no other request than to ask for pardon.
In humility I come.
