"dad"
I didn’t get the chance to call you like I would
have loved to do.
I didn’t get to share with you like most kids
do because of the unchanging will of Heaven,
which is beyond man’s control.
I know you miss me like I do miss you.
Even though the moment was too brief it
has lots of memories.
You gave me much to hang onto in rainy
days of life.
Dear Dad, you do need to hear this from me.
You are the best gift nature has given to me
and I am proud of you.
I have come close to the monster’s mouth of death;
I have stood between sinking mountains and valleys
of death;
but your words of encouragement have kept me up.
I may not be as bright as sunshine, nor as sparkling
as the shooting stars, but I sure do know that your
love is real and your rebuke has never been for hate
but for the greater love you shared.
I love you dad, you are the greatest.
Daddy, in your heart of hearts lies the solace I seek.
